The First Feeding
Book One of the Eater of Worlds Campaign — A D&D 5th Edition Adventure for 4–5 Characters, Levels 1–3

Something answered the cult's prayers. It wasn't hungry for worship.

The village of Aldermoor is quietly dying. Livestock vanish. Crops fail in patches that spread a little further every night. A farmhand hasn't come home. The village elder suspects wolves, or thieves — she's wrong, and finding out just how wrong is the whole point.

Something answered a decades-old prayer meant for something else entirely, and it's been growing in the dark ever since. What the party finds in Aldermoor's fields isn't a monster attack — it's a harvest, carried out patiently, methodically, by things that used to be people. By the time the truth surfaces, the real question isn't whether the party can win a fight. It's how much of Aldermoor they can still save.

The First Feeding is the opening chapter of a full campaign arc (levels 1–15), but plays complete and satisfying entirely on its own — a low-level horror one-shot built around dread that builds instead of jump-scares, and a hivemind threat whose every minion is a twisted, still-recognizable person rather than a generic monster.

What's inside:

  • A complete opening adventure for 4–5 characters, levels 1–3

  • A fully realized, richly illustrated village with real NPCs, real stakes, and real consequences for how the party handles it

  • Five distinct minion types sharing one unified, unsettling design — from the base Gleaning Thrall to specialized grafts built for scouting, defense, speed, and brute force

  • A fully illustrated magic item, printable player handouts, and a direct hook into Book Two: The Sleeping Wound

  • Complete DM guidance front to back, including scaling notes and campaign continuity hooks

The free first taste of a campaign built to grow with your table — start here, and see how far the hunger spreads.
